The 8HP is an automatic transmission with 8 forward gears found in many vehicles ranging from some of the fastest performance BMWs to Dodge trucks.  With aftermarket controllers we are able to take full control of the valves internal to these transmissions and tune them to fit our needs.

A big appeal grew when clutch control came to a point where the benefits of a manual transmission could be introduced to the 8HP; a virtual third pedal that behaves like a manual clutch does.  Depending on the control strategy the electronic controller will disengage multiple internal clutch packs and then reengage them as aggressively or as gently as they are programmed.

When used with a competent standalone ECU we are also able to achieve aggressive,   smooth, and most importantly fast, shifts under power.  Torque management and shift schedules can be configured with the standalone or the transmission controller depending on the application.
